Refund and Returns Policy

Last updated: 24 August 2026

These clips are printed and assembled by hand, a few a day. If yours arrives wrong, broken, or simply isn’t what you hoped for, I want to sort it out.

Returns

You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The clip needs to be unused and in the condition it arrived in.

Start by emailing duncan@homewiseautomations.com with your order number and what went wrong. I’ll reply with return instructions and the return address. Please don’t post anything back before you hear from me — unannounced returns are easy to lose track of, and I can’t refund what I can’t identify.

Who pays return postage

  • If I got it wrong — wrong colour, wrong item, a defect, or damage in transit — I cover it completely. You’ll get a prepaid label, and a replacement or a full refund including original shipping, whichever you prefer.
  • If you changed your mind, return postage is yours to pay, and the original shipping charge isn’t refunded. A clip fits in a plain envelope, so this is usually a couple of dollars.

Damaged or faulty clips

Email me a photo before sending anything back. Most of the time I’ll simply put a new one in the post the same day and won’t ask for the broken one back — posting it is more hassle than it’s worth for both of us.

The spring is the part most likely to fail. If it gives out under normal use at any point, tell me and I’ll make it right, 30 days or not.

Refunds

Once your return arrives, or once I’ve approved a photo, the refund goes back to the card you paid with. Stripe processes it immediately on my end; your bank usually takes 5–10 business days to post it. I can’t refund to a different card or as store credit.

I’ll email you when it’s sent.

Cancelling an order

If your order hasn’t shipped yet, email me and I’ll cancel and refund it in full, no questions. Because I ship from stock this window can be short — sometimes a few hours — so get in touch quickly.

Local pickup orders

Pickup orders can be cancelled and refunded in full any time before you collect them. Once collected, the 30-day return terms above apply as normal.

Lost or late parcels

Delivery estimates are estimates, and USPS occasionally has other ideas. If tracking hasn’t moved for 7 days, or a parcel is marked delivered and isn’t there, email me. I’ll open a case with USPS and, if it doesn’t turn up, send a replacement or refund you. You won’t be left out of pocket because the post went astray.

What I can’t take back

Clips that have been damaged by misuse, modified, or worn heavily. Normal wear is fine — that’s what they’re for.
